We are riding in memory of a dear friend Marisa Bocanegra (Ana Maria) who I met while volunteering with a Search and Rescue organization called United Legacy. She was taken at birth in Columbia and sold. She was then legally adopted and raised in Minnesota. She knew she was adopted and always wondered about and had begun searching for her birth mother. In 2014 she came into contact with someone in Columbia saying her biological mother never stopped looking for her. Due to corruption in the Columbian government, and the fact she was taken at birth, they had an extremely hard time proving to authorities, even with DNA proof, that she was her daughter. In November of 2016 her mom was finally granted a visa to come visit. Tragically, 19 days after her mother arrived in Minnesota and they had a wonderful reunion, Marisa died in a car accident. Marisa will always be dearly missed and in my heart. To see the rest of her story on YouTube click the link below.
