In the 4+ years I've been with Young Living, I've become passionate about natural living and educating others, but I have also been touched by the heart of this company. The D.Gary Young Foundation was founded in 2009 and their mission is commitment to empowering individuals to achieve their potential and defy limitations by providing wellness and education opportunities to underserved communities.
Since the foundation began, children in poverty have been able to graduate high school and attend a university. Orphans have been rescued from the streets, the problem of jiggers and malaria in east Africa is being stemmed, girls ranging in ages - the youngest being ONE year old - are being saved from modern slavery and sex trafficking. An entire village in Nepal destroyed by an Earthquake has been entirely built.
All the above was possible through the Young Living Foundation, where 100% of our donations go straight to those in need and YL covers all of the admin costs.
The foundation currently serves 6 projects.
1. Rebuild Nepal
2. Young Living Academy - Ecuador
3. Hope for Justice
4. Sole Hope
5. Healing Faith
6. Disaster Relief
Every quarter I host a YL Rally with my friends! We center the Rally around the Foundation, each time raising more money for these projects. Recently we were able to raise $2500!!!!
With that money we were able to sponsor TWO children at the YL Academy so that their education expenses, uniforms, and meals were covered for an entire year. You want to talk about living with a purpose! Everyone that contributed to that $2500 is doing something much bigger than themselves. Living our lives to bless others is HUGE!
I want to focus now on HEALING FAITH. I had the opportunity to speak to the founder of this organization recently, and it's been tugging on my heart strings since I left Utah.
Malaria is a leading cause of death for children under five in Uganda. More than 40 children DIE EACH DAY from the disease, which costs less than ONE DOLLAR to treat. With access to education, prevention, and treatment, malaria is preventable, treatable, and curable.
Healing Faith partners with communities in Uganda's Mayuge District (where malaria transmission rates are high) to provide life-saving mosquito nets, ongoing malaria education, and access to malaria testing and treatment.
For $1 you can provide the testing and treatment for a child. Literally SAVE A CHILD'S LIFE with $1.
For $5 you can provide a mosquito net for them to sleep under to avoid the risk of getting bit.
Our next Rally is Saturday July 14th.
My goal is to raise $1000 by then!
WILL YOU HELP ME????
If all you can donate is $1~ AMAZING!
You just saved a child's life! If everyone of my FAcebook friends donated just $1, we could raise $1800 to save 1800 kids! WHAT?!?! YES! Let's do this!!!!!!
What about $5 for a net! Often times an entire family will sleep under one net.
I pray that you feel my heart and passion and that you will be able to help me GIVE BACK.
THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!!!
